Kingfisher Construction is undertaking a large-scale project to build a pedestrian boardwalk alongside a busy roadway embankment in Annapolis, Maryland.
They chose to work with Alessi Equipment, our Gilbert Pile Driving Equipment dealer on the East Coast, on the purchase of a Gilbert Multi-Grip MG-60 Pile Driver to complete this project, which required precise equipment that can handle limited access and ensure safety while keeping the process efficient.
This 15-foot-wide, 400-foot-long boardwalk will be supported by timber piles that require careful installation on a challenging, narrow site. The MG-60 side grip pile driver proved to be the ideal solution for Kingfisher Construction. As John Mercer shared, “The MG-60 operates reliably, and the controls and user interface are well thought out and easy to work with. It has been great to work with on this job.”
With the side grip, John and his team were able to set and drive piles in the tight, embankment-adjacent work zone, a task that would have been impossible with traditional equipment. The MG-60 allowed for easier maneuvering, and its efficient design sped up the process while enhancing safety.
