SFT Supplied Cone Fenders for Refurbishment Project at Port of Tanjung Pelepas

One of the busiest container ports in Malaysia is the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) located at the Pulai River in South-West Johor. PTP is a joint venture between APM Terminals and MMC Group´s ports and logistics division. The terminal has 14 linear berths with a total length of 5.04 km. Furthermore, PTP is connected to the national rail grid passing through Peninsular Malaysia from Singapore to Southern Thailand.

The port has initiated a refurbishment project in 2021 to replace the existing Bridgestone SUC 1450 Cell Fender Systems with a fender system which had to fit into the existing structures, provide sufficient performance and meet the port´s expectations. In 2022, our Malaysian office delivered 35 sets of SPC 1150 Cone Fender Systems with a steel panel design measuring 1910 mm x 5310 mm. We delivered the systems in January and our client completed the installation in April 2022.
