Measutronics Introduces INSonar to Simplify Marine Sonar Deployment

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Measutronics, a marine technology subsidiary of Duncan-Parnell, introduces INSonar, an integrated solution designed to make sonar technology more accessible and easier to use for hydrographic and marine construction projects. The INS in INSonar stands for Integrated Navigation Simplified, underscoring a focus on reducing setup complexity and streamlining the path to reliable underwater data.
Developed by Measutronics with support from established technology partners, the system unifies proven capabilities in a single package to shorten onboarding and standardize field workflows. INSonar features acoustics by Norbit, inertials by Applanix, positioning by Trimble, and service and support by Measutronics.
INSonar emphasizes practical deployment in the field. Installation and calibration are streamlined so crews can be on the water faster, and preset offsets eliminate measure-up errors and reduce error propagation across the dataset. The compact, small-form-factor design allows the entire kit to travel with the operator on commercial air, making it well-suited for “vessel-of-opportunity” installations. For entry-level users, Measutronics’ technicians provide installation, training, and project startup assistance to help ensure early success and consistent results.
The approach suits common marine tasks such as dredging, harbor upkeep, and near-shore construction, where practical reliability and efficient deployment are essential. INSonar is available directly from Measutronics.
