Equipment Updates on Ellicott 14″, 18″, and 20″ Dredges and Booster Pumps

Ellicott Dredges is pleased to announce the successful delivery of a new Ellicott® Series 1870 G2 Dragon® dredge, the Sandpiper, to the City of Virginia Beach. The new Ellicott 1870 G2 dredge replaces the aging Ellicott 970 (Rudee Inlet II), which has served the community reliably since 1983. The Sandpiper combines the proven, robust design of the original 1870 series with advanced modern features, including upgraded hydraulics, enhanced operator controls, and the latest EPA-compliant engines.

The achievement represents a significant company-wide effort, involving Ellicott’s sales, engineering, production, testing, and delivery teams. The project required close coordination between Ellicott’s Baltimore and New Richmond facilities and the invaluable support of key vendors. Ellicott Dredges extends sincere appreciation to the City of Virginia Beach for its continued partnership and looks forward to the Sandpiper delivering many years of dependable service.
