BAUER Dynamic Compaction

Dynamic Compaction can be an attractive construction alternative to improve ground bearing capacities or compact poor soils. Dynamic compaction is a soil densification method. The soil is compacted by repeated dropping of a heavy weight (pounder) from a predetermined height onto the ground surface.

The BDC process is predominantly used for:
  • Reduction of foundation settlements
  • Increase in bearing capacity
  • Prevention of liquefaction during earthquakes
  • Increase of in-situ density of land reclamation, fill and waste deposits
The BDC technique is most effective for:
  • Non-cohesive granular soil
  • Loose mixed soil with a low percentage of fines
  • Landfill deposits (recent and old)
  • Building rubble and construction debris
  • Soil formations with large voids

In the past there was a danger of heavy accidents in case of equipment or human failure. Bauer Maschinen has made special efforts in the development of their Duty Cycle Cranes, considering also the specific needs for the dynamic compaction method to make it more productive, easier to perform and most important, much safer to operate. The latest development of a fully automatic cycle modules which puts the operator into a comfortable control function, sets the new standard in this application.
If you would like to learn more about BAUER Dynamic Compaction you can visit us on the WEB and download the brochure. In addition you can watch a live demonstration of the fully automatic cycle system on the Bauer MC 128 on YouTube. You can also contact us directly at 713.691.3000.
