Power Engineering Construction Expands Marine and Heavy Civil Construction Services into Southern California

Power Engineering Construction, a leading marine and heavy civil contractor with decades of experience in Northern California, is expanding statewide with a new office in Long Beach.
This strategic move supports the company’s long-term vision to serve California’s critical infrastructure needs near, on, and under the water — from major ports and public waterfronts to canal repair and coastal resilience projects.
Southern California’s ports, marinas, and inland water infrastructure are seeing significant investment to modernize aging systems, strengthen environmental resilience, and support emerging industries like offshore wind.
Power’s expansion brings specialized capabilities and equipment well aligned with these initiatives. Our marine fleet includes one of the few ABS-classed, 250-ton fully revolving derrick barges staged on the West Coast — a heavy-lift pile driving crane with the capacity to operate fully electric. Supported by a fleet of vessels and dedicated resources, we’re ready to mobilize quickly for complex in-water work. With an in-house, ADCI-certified diving team, we’re able to deliver underwater construction and inspection services as part of a fully integrated marine project delivery — from planning through execution.
Since 2020, Power has delivered projects across Southern California ports, private marinas, federal agencies, and regional water districts. From the U.S. Coast Guard’s cutter wharf in San Pedro to inland reservoirs and coastal infrastructure upgrades, this work has provided valuable insight into local conditions and permitting.
With a growing presence in the region, Power Engineering is committed to supporting Southern California’s next generation of marine and heavy civil infrastructure — on the water, at the ports, and beyond.
