Superyachts Have New Berthing Choice in Palm Beach
Palm Beach, Florida is known for its balance of small-town charm and over-the-top luxury. Because the area is such a draw to superyacht owners and captains, Safe Harbor Rybovich – Berth One has added 390′ of new state-of-the-art floating concrete berthing docks from industry leader SF Marina.
Vance Marine Construction installed the six SF Marina Type 2060 floating concrete pontoons needed for the project. Virtually unsinkable, they have a low center of gravity and enormous mass that ensures exceptional stability in all weather conditions.
The L-shaped dock at Safe Harbor Rybovich – Berth One is comprised of a 140′ section perpendicular to shore and a 250′ section facing south towards the Port of Palm Beach. A generous 20′ in width, the docks have a 36″ freeboard with a double row of 4×6 timber rub rails to accommodate a wide range of vessel sizes.
Vance also drove 12 new 30″ steel piles in an offset pattern that allows small vehicles to service superyachts on either side of the dock. The piles ride within SF Marina’s innovative guides that feature safety covers and cushion block technology for silent movement during the 3′ tide. Integrated utility ducts in the pontoons are supplied for future installation of water, power, fuel and waste removal capability. Oversized ship bollards are rated for 25 tons.
Manufactured in Sweden, the 165 tons of dock pontoons for the Safe Harbor Rybovich – Berth Oneproject were transported by ship. With a global network of offices and production locations, no project is too distant for SF Marina.
Operated by Safe Harbor Marinas, Safe Harbor Rybovich – Berth One is a one-of-a-kind, deep-water superyacht berth located in pristine Riviera Beach, Florida. With the capacity for vessels up to 300′, the facility offers dockage, bunkering, 600A @ 480V 3-phase power and minor repair services.
