Foundation Decarbonization & Re-use Conference 2026

Registration is now open for the 3rd Conference on Foundation Decarbonization and Re-use, hosted by DFI Europe in collaboration with KIVI (The Royal Netherlands Society of Engineers). This international event will take place March 24–26 at the iconic Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam, bringing together industry professionals committed to building a more sustainable future for foundation engineering.

The conference is designed to explore practical and innovative approaches to reducing carbon emissions and maximizing the re-use of existing foundations. Through expert-led discussions and real-world examples, attendees will gain valuable insights into how sustainability can be effectively integrated into foundation projects.

Conference Program Highlights

The event features four in-depth technical sessions, each focused on a critical stage of foundation decarbonization and re-use:

  • Session 1: Decision-making processes for foundation decarbonization and re-use

  • Session 2: Inspection and testing methods to evaluate the suitability of existing foundations

  • Session 3: Design considerations when decarbonizing or re-using foundations

  • Session 4: Construction practices and challenges in sustainable foundation projects

Exclusive Job Site Visits

On the third day, participants will have the opportunity to visit active job sites in and around Amsterdam where foundation re-use is currently being implemented. These site visits offer practical, hands-on insights and a firsthand look at how sustainable foundation practices are applied in real projects.

This conference provides a unique platform for engineers, contractors, designers, and decision-makers to exchange knowledge, learn from global experts, and contribute to the advancement of low-carbon and circular foundation solutions.

Professionals interested in sustainable construction and foundation innovation are encouraged to register early and be part of this important conversation shaping the future of the industry.
