Drilled Shafts: Construction Procedures by FHWA

This publication is intended to provide a resource for engineers responsible for the selection and design of drilled shaft foundations for transportation structures and as a text for use with the three day short course on the subject presented by the National Highway Institute (Course No. 132014). This document represents an updated edition of the very successful Federal Highway Administration publication on drilled shaft foundations co-authored by the late Michael O’Neal and late Lymon Reese, published in 1988 and revised and republished in 1999.
