DFI Presenting Energy Foundations Webinar Series
Registration is open for DFI’s 2020 Energy Foundations Webinar Series.
This webinar series, organized by DFI’s Energy Foundations Committee, outlines good practice for designing and installing energy foundation systems to provide sustainable heating and cooling solutions. Energy foundations are ground sourced heat pump systems that use geothermal loops installed within foundations and structures to transfer heat between the ground and overlying structures.
The webinar series is co-chaired by Tony Amis of GI Energy and Professor C. Guney Olgun of Missouri University of Science and Technology. They are also co-chairs of DFI’s Energy Foundations Committee.
This webinar series includes three 90-minute sessions on July 8, July 15 and July 22. All webinars will be presented from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. EDT/3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. GMT.
The sessions will present the background, resources, applications, construction workflow and management considerations required to design and construct effective energy foundations. Highlights include:
- Research results
- Use of Ground Source Heat Pump Association (GSHP) document for design
- Energy foundations applications
- Bridge deck deicing opportunities
- GSHP mechanical systems
- Good working practice
- Workflow considerations
