SF Marina Enhances Pier Sixty-Six in Ft. Lauderdale with State-of-the-Art Fuel Dock

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – SF Marina Systems has delivered a new floating concrete fuel dock at Pier Sixty-Six Marina in Fort Lauderdale, providing a modern, high-capacity solution designed to support today’s larger yachts while enhancing operational efficiency. The new dock’s wider footprint and higher freeboard enable smooth, safe docking and fueling operations at the busy marina location – a challenge now resolved with this superior upgrade.

With the volume of yachts and increased marina traffic, the new fuel dock provides both enhanced safety and improved efficiency for staff and visiting vessels. Its robust construction allows Pier Sixty-Six Marina to accommodate today’s larger yachts with ease, while a full utilities package – including fueling capabilities, an on-site pumpout station, water service, fire safety systems, and integrated LED dock lighting – ensures smooth docking and fueling operations, improved accessibility, and a safer, more functional environment.

“At Pier Sixty-Six Marina we require docks with no maintenance that can support all sizes of vessels. Docks that feel and look sturdy enough for large vessels up to 400ft in length and at the same time accommodating and approachable for smaller vessels, which not every dock can accomplish. These docks do just that,” said Megan Lagasse, Marina Director at Pier Sixty-Six.

The Pier Sixty-Six Marina fuel dock project features three SF Marina Type 1540 single-cast concrete floating dock units, each measuring 13 by 76 feet, for a total dock length of 230 feet. With a 28-inch freeboard and steel piles protected by HDPE sleeves, the dock is engineered to meet the demands of modern yachting. Double rows of composite rub rails provide both vessel protection and convenient steps for lower-freeboard boats, while off-center internal pile guides with cushion block technology and safety covers ensure clean-looking, safe decks. Heavy-duty 5-ton cleats, along with stainless-steel 10-ton bollards, complete the installation, making the dock fully capable of accommodating everything from center consoles to the larger vessels visiting Pier Sixty-Six.
