JD Fields’ Ongoing North American Partnership with ArcelorMittal

JD Fields

JD FieldsAs part of its expanding exclusive North American distribution partnership with ArcelorMittal (AM), JD Fields & Company, Inc. (JDF), a subsidiary of The Fields Companies, has announced that it has implemented AM’s highly-sustainable XCarb EcoSheetPile™ Plus product into its steel sheet pile portfolio. These piles are manufactured from Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) technology, utilizing recycled scrap material powered from 100% renewably sourced  electricity. In addition to many other benefits,  EcoSheetPile Plus boasts a 30% lower emissions footprint than traditional sheet pile. The technology’s effect on carbon mitigation has been measured through several independent, third-party infrastructure impact studies that show that it provides the lowest environmental impact compared to other construction solutions. “We are seeing more and more infrastructure projects and are committed to leading as environmental stewards of steel sheet pile with a reduced carbon footprint,” noted Fields Cos. Director of Engineering Dean Abbondanza. He added, “As JD Fields continues to seek ways to be a forward-thinking driver of meaningful change in the industry and in the marketplace, we are firmly committed to raising the sheet pile material standard once more.  We look forward to bringing ArcelorMittal’s over-arching long-term corporate decarbonization strategy to North America, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.”
