Pacer Corporation Purchases Two Bermingham VTL Systems

In November 2013, Bermingham’s Louis Fritz P.Eng was approached by Pacer Corporation’s Dan Berg (President) and Joe Anderson (Senior Piling Superintendent) for the purpose of sourcing a new Piling Vertical Travel Lead (VTL) to drive many different sizes of pipe piles, the largest being 36 inch diameter. After collaboration with Bermingham Pacer ordered two systems of 108-FT L18 VTL with HHH-16 Spotters in December.

Upon inquiring some more about the BK3-1733HB (High Batter) Spotter, Pacer decided to exercise their option to upgrade.  The HHH line of spotters has two stages for extension (responsible for the fore/aft Batter Limits), the BK3 line has three sections.  As has been recognized by recent  VTLcustomers, the BK3 line of spotters can acheive increased Fore/Aft batter operating range because of the three stages.  The BK3-1733HB is special in that it was designed to also allow for further side batter reaches.  Typcially the BK3 line’s true advantage is in its fore/Aft range.  The BK3-1733HB has wider spotter boxes and a wider heel base which helps the overall side to side reach. In short the BK3-1733HB is the best of both the HHH and BK3 Spotter lines – acheiving great versatility with all batter directions.

The second L18 system including the BK3-1733HB Spotter was delivered in July and in the process of getting ready to ship to a job site in Northern Alberta.
