Boyer Construction used a REV Drill Model 62HDT to support a challenging water main repair project in Houston, Texas. The project required access to a 96-inch water main originally installed in the 1900s, approximately 64 feet below ground level.
To provide temporary support of excavation (SOE), the team installed auger cast piles to construct a rigid secant wall. The process involved drilling holes and filling them with concrete to create a stable excavation support system, allowing workers to access the underground pipeline for repairs.
The project highlights how specialized drilling equipment and secant wall construction can support complex underground infrastructure repairs. According to REV Drill Sales & Rentals, the Houston project demonstrates the versatility of its drilling equipment in demanding excavation applications.
