Entegra Attachments, LLC Announces Purchase of TEI Rock Drills

Entegra Attachments, LLC, of Saint Charles, IL, is pleased to announce its acquisition of TEI Rock Drills, Inc., a Montrose, CO based manufacturer of specialized drilling machinery used in underground utilities, mining, tunneling, and construction applications. The company’s equipment is essential for bridge foundations, soil stabilization, and limited-access installations. TEI Rock Drills, at its inception in 1980, was a pioneer in portable hydraulic rock drilling equipment, begun by company president Sue Frank’s father, Bill Patterson, who was previously with Gardner-Denver as its Chief Engineer.

Roughly 50% of the company’s product sales are excavator attachments, hydraulic rigs, and other equipment (such as electric-powered track rigs designed primarily for interior applications), with the other half coming from drill heads, parts and accessories. A large majority of the company’s revenues come from highly satisfied customers who have been doing business with TEI for over 5 years.

This internationally positioned company manufactures its products out of its headquarters facility in Montrose, CO, using primarily North American components. It occupies a premium market position, with patented technology to optimize drilling power with superior useful life, all while increasing productivity and reducing downtime for customers.

Mike Flannery, Entegra Attachments’ CEO, indicated that the acquisition of TEI Rock Drills significantly enhances Entegra’s Pile Driving and Drilling Platform and complements its former acquisitions and integration of Fort Wayne, IN based Hercules Machinery Corporation and Titan Metal Worx. “HMC®,” said Flannery, “was the pioneer in North America and is now the leader in the supply of the most durable and reliable vibratory pile driving systems available today. TEI’s winning proposition in drilling systems plus HMC’s premier position in pile driving, supported by the highest service, expertise, and training, makes for an unbeatable proposition.”

Sue Frank, TEI’s president since 2006, commented that a careful decision was made in selecting the right company to partner with to support its growth investment goals. “Entegra’s people-centric values, portfolio synergies, expertise, and superior investment capability were among the main reasons for our decision to join the Entegra family of highly specialized companies.”

Other companies that define Entegra, in addition to TEI, HMC, and Titan Metal Worx, are Bloom Manufacturing, a 116-year-old hydraulic winch manufacturer, defining Entegra’s Lifting and Pulling Systems Platform, and B&D Fabricators, a Heavy Construction Attachments company, that also recently acquired Leading Edge Attachments, a one-of-a-kind, patented rock ripper and rock ripper bucket brand basket of outstanding products.
