Largest Mediterranean Marina Refurbished with Special Non-Marking Fenders from ShibataFenderTeam

Marassi is an unique destination in Egypt with its over 6.5 million m2 overlooking the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Within the heart of the resort lies Marassi Marina, the largest in the Mediterranean Southern Coast, equipped with an impressive berthing capacity: 267 berths that can accommodate yachts of different sizes.

Everything has been thoroughly designed in detail for this first-class resort and, with that in mind, the client HOMAN Contracting requested a special product that ensures safe berthing procedures and non-marking, while yachts are moored in the marina.  Usually, black rubber is used for fenders, but as black rubber leaves marks on vessels when in direct contact, ShibataFenderTeam proposed grey non-marking rubber to preserve the white vessel hull of the luxurious yachts. The order included 172 Extruded Fenders (400x400x3000mm and 250x250x3000mm) and 17 Cylindrical Fenders (500x250x2500mm), all manufactured from grey non-marking rubber and along with the assurance of safety during the berthing operations.

The project scope was completed with 55 sets of Special Element Fenders in two sizes (800x2000mm and 500x1500mm). When the manufacturing and transport to the marina was finished, SFT Sales Team visited the site and assisted during the installation process, extending a truly customized solution – production and service – to the client.
